100% red xarel·lo. A rarity from old times
Can Descregut was the first winery to recover this old grape variety.
100% xarel·lo red (also known as rosé xarel.lo). Genetic mutation from the white xarel·lo. It is a very rare grape variety. we have old vines, over fifty years old, that give little grape but better concentration. The difference is that it has red and thicker skin, which if it's harvested with a good maturation gives us greater aromatic complexity.
Its delicate aromas and marking saline character make it ideal to accompany soft cheeses, seafood, shell, oysters, fresh pasta,
mushrooms, fish carpaccio and salads.

Cold maceration of the skins for about 10 hours, to extract varieties aromas and something of colour. A static clearing of the must is then carried out at 14 ºC and the alcoholic fermentation with its own natural yeast takes place in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation it ages with their own lees for 7 months, with period stirring.
It presents a yellow-orange color, from the maceration of the skins.
Low aromatic intensity, but delicate with a great complexity: it presents white fruit (apple and pear), citrus, smoked, notes of earth and mushrooms, and a tip of red strawberries very typical of the variety thanks to the tannins.
The palate has amplitude, soft, silky and elegant on a mineral background. Persistent aftertaste and saline
